Ten Days on the Amalfi Coast for a Milestone Anniversary
This is the itinerary we build most often for couples marking a significant anniversary in Italy. It moves slowly, uses two bases rather than four, and puts the celebration dinner where it belongs — after you have had time to arrive.
It is written for travelers who want the coast at its best rather than its busiest: shoulder season, a private boat rather than a ferry queue, and a hotel terrace worth staying in for.
Best for
Couples marking a 25th, 30th or 40th anniversary
When to go
Late May, or mid-September into early October
Duration
10 days
Guide price
From $14,500 for two travelers, excluding flights
Highlights
- Two bases only — Positano and Ravello — so you unpack twice in ten days
- A full private boat day along the coast to Capri and the sea caves
- A hillside cooking afternoon with a family who has farmed the terraces for four generations
- An anniversary dinner arranged privately, on a terrace above the water
- Hotel benefits through our Fora and Virtuoso partnerships where available
Day by day
How the journey unfolds
Days 1–2
Arrive Naples, transfer to Positano
Private transfer from Naples along the coast road, with a stop above Sorrento for the first view. The rest of the day is deliberately empty. Dinner is a short walk from the hotel, booked but unhurried.
Day 3
Positano on foot
A morning walk down through the town with a guide who grew up here, ending at the beach for lunch. The afternoon is yours. We keep a table held in case you want it.
Day 4
The Path of the Gods
An early start for the ridge walk from Bomerano down to Nocelle — three hours of the finest coastal walking in Italy, before the heat. A car meets you at the bottom.
Day 5
Private boat to Capri
Your own boat and skipper for the day. Swimming stops on the way, the Faraglioni, lunch ashore in Marina Piccola, and back along the coast in the late light rather than on the last ferry.
Days 6–7
Move to Ravello
Up into the hills, where the coast quietens. Gardens at Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, a concert if the season allows, and an afternoon that asks nothing of you.
Day 8
Terraces and a long lunch
A cooking afternoon with a family in the lemon terraces above Amalfi. You eat what you make, at their table, and it usually runs long.
Day 9
The anniversary dinner
A free day, then dinner arranged privately on a terrace above the water — the meal the trip has been quietly building toward.
Day 10
Return
Private transfer to Naples, timed against your flight with room for the coast road to misbehave.
